My work setup

This are going to be a series of hopefully short articles around how I set my workspace. In this first article we’ll dive into why do something like this are what are the musts for any work place, of course in my opinion.

Why bother ?

Your workspace, weather you like it or not, is somewhere you’ll spend a lot of time. That should be a good enough reason to make it comfortable for your needs. However you’ll see there are tones of artcles about build the most productive wokflow out there

The story behind my case is simple. In my earliest years I programmed Java. Java with NO IDE. So when I jumped into python and found our PyCharm my whole world change. I customized it, learned shortcuts and did everythin in the IDE. But.. with the raise of LLMs and Copilot there was a strong current leading us to VSCode or Cursor. I never really learned them and truly bonded with them the way I did with PyCharm. But due to the push I was also going away from PyCharm.
